Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has invited applications for the Central Armed Forces (Assistant Commandants) Examination, 2015. The UPSC will hold a written examination on  July 12, for recruitment of Assistant Commandants (Group A) in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF). The examination further recruits for Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB).

  • Eligibility criteria: Candidates must ensure their eligibility for the examination. Candidates may check the details in the official notification on the UPSC website. 
  • Selection procedure: The selection procedure/scheme of the exam will be as follows: 

Phase I. Written Examination: 
  1. The written examination to be conducted by Union Public Service Commission will be held on 12th July, 2015 and will comprise two papers.
  2. Paper I : General Ability and Intelligence - 250 Marks
  3. Paper II : General Studies, Essay and Comprehension - 200 Marks
  4. Phase II. Physical Standards/Physical Efficiency Tests and Medical Standards Tests: The candidates who are declared qualified in the written examination will be summoned for the Physical Standards/Physical Efficiency Tests and Medical Standards Tests. The candidates who meet the prescribed Physical Standards, will be put through the Physical Efficiency Tests.
  5. Phase III. Interview/Personality Test: The candidates who are declared qualified in the Medical Standards Tests, will be called for Interview/Personality Test to be conducted by Union Public Service Commission. The Interview/Personality Test will carry 150 marks.
  6. Final Selection/Merit: The merit list will be drawn on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates in the written examination and Interview/Personality Test
  7. How to apply:  The candidates are required to apply online only by using the official website of UPSC.www.upsconline.nic.in 
  8. Important dates: Last date for submission of applications: The online applications can be filled up to May 15, 2015 till 11:59 pm, after which the link will be disabled.
