The Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh has announced vacancies for the posts of Assistant Professors on a contract basis. The interested and eligible candidates may appear at the walk-in interview to be held in Chandigarh on April 15, 2015.

These posts are to be filled purely on a contract basis for a period of one year or till the time regular appointments for said posts are made, whichever is earlier.

Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualification:
a) A medical qualification included in the first or second schedule or Part II of the third schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act of 1956 (persons possessing qualifications in Part II of the third schedule should also fulfil the conditions specified in sub-section (3) of section 13 of the Act).
b) The candidate must be registered with the state/Central Medical Council of India.
c) A Postgraduate qualification of an Indian university or an equivalent degree recognised as such by the Medical Council of India, as mentioned below:
1. Cytology and Gynec. Pathology: Candidates must have an MD (Pathology from an Indian university or a qualification recognised equivalent thereto) and at least three years teaching and, or, research experience at a recognized institute in the subject of speciality after obtaining the qualifying degree of MD or MS.
2. Radiodiagnosis: Candidates are required to have a postgraduate qualification, such as an MD (Radiodiagnosis) from an Indian university or qualifications recognised equivalent thereto. This should be accompanied by experience of minimum three years in teaching and, or, research at a recognised institution in the subject of speciality after obtaining the qualifying degree of MD or MS.
3. Hospital Administration: Candidates shall have a postgraduate qualification such as MD or MS or a recognized qualification which is equivalent to the same, in any medical discipline. Or they may have a Masters degree in Hospital Administration or a recognised qualification equivalent thereto. They must have three years experience in teaching and, or, research at a recognised institution in the subject of speciality after obtaining the qualifying degree of MD or MS.
4. Neurology: Candidates are required to hold a postgraduate qualification, such as DM (neurology) from an Indian university or an equivalent degree recognised as such by the Medical Council of India. Also, they must have one year experience in research and, or, teaching at a recognised institution in the subject of specialisation after obtaining the degree of D.M.
5. Pulmonary Medicine: Candidates must have acquired a postgraduate qualification, such as, DM (Pulmonary Medicine) or MD (Medicine followed by two years of training in Pulmonary Medicine) from an Indian university or an equivalent degree recognised as such by the Medical Council of India. They are to have one year experience in teaching and, or, research at a recognised institution in the field of speciality after obtaining the degree of DM; or three years if the degree obtained is MD.
  • Age Limit: Age limit is 50 years. Age relaxation will be given to candidates as per the rules of Government of India.
  • Selection Procedure: Selection of candidates will be done on the basis of the walk-in interview.
  • How to Apply: Interested and eligible candidates may appear for the interview; they shall carry along three copies of their application and, or, bio-data, all documents in support of their claims and three photocopies of each such documents; and lastly, three latest passport size photographs.
  • Pay Scale: The consolidated remuneration shall be Rs. 1 lakh per month.
  • Important Dates: Walk-in interview is to be held at 10:00am on April 15, 2015 at the Committee Room, Director's Office (Administrative block), Kairon block, PGIMER, Chandigarh.
