Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has invited applications for recruitment at several posts. The interested and eligible candidates can apply by April 16. However, the last date to print the duly submitted applications is April 17.

Eligibility criteria:
Educational qualifications:
  1. Assistant directors (cost): Candidates applying for this post should have qualifications recognised for enrolment in the register of members of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) or of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India. 
  2. Assistant mineral economists (intelligence): Candidates applying for this post should possess a Master's degree in Geology or Applied Geology or Economics or they should have a degree in Mining Engineering from a recognised university or its equivalent.
  3. Assistant town and country planner: Candidates applying for this post should have a post graduate degree in town or city or urban or housing or country or rural or infrastructure or regional or transport or environmental planning from a recognised university or institute or they should have obtained a Bachelor of Planning or Bachelor of Technology in Planning degree from a recognised university or institute having acquired three years of experience in the field of urban or regional planning in the central government or state governments or union territories or universities or recognised research institutions or public sector undertakings or semi-government or statutory or autonomous organisations.
Age limit:
  1. Assistant directors (cost): 35 years
  2. Assistant mineral economists (intelligence): 38 years for OBC, 40 years for ST candidates
  3. Assistant town and country planner: 35 years
  • Selection process: Candidates will be short listed on the basis of their performances in the interview. Candidates will be called for interview round on the basis of the information submitted by them in the ORA forms.
Pay scale:
  1. Assistant directors (cost): Rs 15,600- 39,100 (PB-3) + Rs 5,400 (Grade Pay) (T.E. Rs 43,470 approx.) + TA and HRA as admissible.
  2. Assistant mineral economists (intelligence): Rs 15,600- 39,100 (PB-3) + Rs 5,400 (Grade Pay) (T.E. Rs 43,470 approx.) + TA and HRA as admissible.
  3. Assistant town and country planner: Rs 15,600- 39,100 (PB-3) + Rs 5,400 (Grade Pay) (T.E. Rs 43,470/ approx.) + TA and HRA as admissible.

Selection Procedure:
  1. Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of the information provided by them on the application. Selection of candidates short listed will be done on the basis of their performance in the interview.
  2. Candidates shortlisted for interview will be required to send self attested copies of documents/relevant certificates in support of the claims made in the application as and when demanded by the Commission.
Application Fees:
  1. Candidates are subjected to pay a non-refundable application fee of Rs 25 in the form of an SBI Challan paid at the bank by cash or by using net banking facility of the SBI or by using visa/master credit/debit card.
  2. SC/ ST/ PH/ Women candidates are exempted from payment of application fees.

  3. If claiming an experience, candidates should upload their experience certificate in a single pfd file.
