Odisha Staff Selection Commission announces recruitment for 17 JMVI posts

Odisha Staff Selection Commission is inviting applicants for the recruitment to the post of 17 Junior Motor Vehicle Inspector. 

The candidates who are interested and find themselves eligible can apply for the post through prescribed format before December 29, 2014.

1. Name of the Post: Junior Motor Vehicle Inspector (JMVI)
2. No. of Posts: 17 
3. Eligibility and Educational Qualification

Educational Qualification

Candidate in order to appear for the examination for the post should have:

(i) The High school certificate Examination or equivalent examination from a recognized institution. 

(ii) The Diploma Course in Automobile Engineering (3 years course) or the Diploma course in Mechanical Engineering awarded by the State Council of Technical Education (3 years course) or any other course which is equivalent to either of the above disciplines by the Central government or the State Govt.

• Age Criteria : Candidates must be in between 18-32 years of age to be eligible.
• Pay Scale and Remuneration : Selected candidate will get a pay scale of Rs.9, 300-34,800/ with Grade Pay Rs.4200/-
• Procedure of Selection : Candidates will be selected on the basis written examination and after evaluating his/her performance in the Interview.

Examination Scheme

• The written Examination will consist of three papers having objective type questions with multiple choices of answers.
• Papers Details
• Paper-I - It will have Language proficiency (both Odia & English) and General Knowledge of 50 marks and will be of 1 hour of Duration.
• Paper-Il - It will have Vehicle maintenance, pollution Standards. Motor vehicle laws and road safety rules as subjects and will be of 50 marks with time allotted of 1 hour
• Paper-Ill - the major subjects is Automobile Engineering of 100 marks with time allotted of 2hour. 
• So, the Total Written Marks is 200 and the Interview will carry 25 marks.
