The main aim of the institute is to protect the forests and wildlife for maintenance of ecological balance.

Eligibility Criteria
- Age Limit: The maximum age limit should be 60 years, and minimum must be 21 years. Relaxation in age would be provided as per the rules.
- Educational Qualification: The applicant must have passed Class XII in Science for Forester post, High School Certificate for Forest Guard post , should have passed as a subject in M.E in School Standard & able to write, speak, read Odiya fluently.
- Selection Procedure: The candidates would be selected on the basis of a written test, physical test & viva voice test.
- How to apply: Interested candidates are required to send their applications along with all other relevant documents to concerned Divisional Forest Officer, Berhampur Circle, Odisha.

- The last date for submission of application is November 29, 2014.
- The exam would be conducted on January 4, 2015 from 10:30 A.M to 5:30 P.M.
