Mail motor service to recruit for 14 posts

Mail Motor Service, Chennai under the Department of Post, India has released applications for recruitment to 14 posts of Time Scale Driver, Welder (Skilled) and Painter (Skilled). Interested candidates who meet the eligibility criteria may send their filled applications along with attested copies of required documents. The postal service under the Department of Posts is a part of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology of the government of India. Its network has registered a six-fold growth since independence, with the expansion's focus primarily in rural areas.

ELIGIBILITYTime Scale Driver (T.S. Driver):

• Candidates should be in the age limit of 21-28 years
• Should have middle standard pass and possess a valid driving license for light and heavy motor vehicles.
• Candidates should be able to read and write local languages and to make simple arithmetical calculations.

Welder (Skilled): 

• Candidates should be in the age limit of 18-30 years
• Should have done a certificate course in the Welder Trade OR Class VIII pass with one-year experience in the Welder Trade.

Painter (Skilled): 

• Candidates should be in the age limit of 18-30 years
• Should have a certificate in the Painter Trade course OR Class VIII pass with one-year experience in the Painter Trade

SALARY

1. Time Scale Driver (T.S. Driver): Pay Band 1 of Rs 5200-20200 with Grade Pay of Rs 1900 + admissible allowances per month
2. Welder (Skilled): Pay Band 1 of Rs 5200-20200 with Grade Pay of Rs 1900 + admissible allowances per month
3. Painter (Skilled): Pay Band 1 of Rs 5200-20200 with Grade Pay of Rs 1900 + admissible allowances per month

SELECTION PROCEDURE  

1. For the post of Time Scale Driver: Candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in the Literacy Test, Arithmetic Test and Driving Test.
2. For the posts of Welder (Skilled) & Painter (Skilled): Candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in the competitive Trade Test for the concerned trade.
