Steel Authority of India (SAIL) has invited applications from eligible candidates for recruitment to various positions. SAIL invites applications for 246 posts of Management Trainee (Technical) and 100 posts of Management Trainee (Administration) in E-1 grade from young, energetic, result oriented and promising talent in the country.

Eligibility:
  1. Management Trainee (Technical): Candidates applying should have a degree in engineering (full time) with 65 per cent marks (average of all semesters), in the disciplines of mechanical, electrical, metallurgy, electronics & instrumentation, ceramics, civil, computer science, mining or chemical engineering. For computer science discipline, MCA (3 years full time) with 65 per cent marks (average of all semesters) are also eligible.
  2. Management Trainee (Administration): Candidates applying should have a bachelors' degree in any discipline with 60 per cent marks (average of all subjects of all years) with at least two years full time MBA/PG diploma in management with 60 per cent marks in human resources/personnel management & industrial relations/personnel management/masters in human resources & organizational development for hr discipline, marketing for marketing discipline and production/operations/materials/logistics/supply chain management for materials discipline.How to apply:
  3. SAIL has a four stage of registration. Candidates interested and eligible to apply for the Management trainee position may apply before March 18.
  4. Primary Stage (New Registration): In this stage the candidate has to enter his basic details and create a login id and password.
  5. Secondary Stage (Login): The candidate should login by entering his login id and password created by him in the first stage and then he has to enter his educational qualification, experience details, if any and upload his/her scanned photo and scanned signature. The scanned photograph and signature should be in jpg or jpeg format with less than 50 kb and 20 kb respectively.
  6. Third Stage: The candidate should make payment through credit card/debit card/netbanking (or) enter the details of payment made through challan.
  7. An application fee has to be paid for completing the registration process as follows:

  9. By SC/ST candidates-Rs 100
  10. Fourth Stage: The candidate should upload the scanned copies of his certificate and submit in the confirmation page to complete the registration.

Important dates:
  • Last date to apply: March 18
  • Display of final reconciled candidature status: March 25
  • Starting date for downloading of admit card from SAIL website: April 23
  • Tentative date of written examination: May 10
  • Transparency/display of individual scorecard (tentative): 1 month after declaration of final results
