Meghalaya Public Service Commission, Shillong has invited
applications for the post of assistant conservator of forest under
Forests and environment department. Interested and eligible candidates
may apply for the post.

- Name and number of post
- Assistant Conservator of Forests: 2 for undergoing the 2016-2018, Diploma courses in Forestry (State Forest Service) at the CASFOS, Dehradun/Coimbatore.
- Applicant should be a citizen of India.
- The minimum standards for height, chest girth and physical fitness which shall be verified by the designated Medical Board, shall be as follows:
- Male Candidate: Height- 163cm; chest girth- 84 cm
- Female Candidate: Height - 150cm; chest girth- 79 am
- The following minimum height standards may be allowed in case of candidates belonging to Schedule Tribes:
- Male Candidate - 152 Cm
- Female Candidate - 145 Cm
- Male/female Candidates must pass a physical test covering a distance of 25/16 Kms respectively within four hours on foot. This test will be arranged by the Meghalaya Forest Department followed by a medical examination by the Medical Board. The Medical Board shall issue the Certificate that the candidates are fit to undertake strenuous outdoor work in the Forest Department.
- The Commission will conduct a written examination in the following subjects:
General Knowledge - 100 marks
English (essay and précis writing etc.) - 100 marks
Optional subjects:
Choose any 2 subjects out of the following (once the choice is made, it cannot be altered) - 200 marks (each)
- i. Agriculture
- ii. Botany
- iii. Chemistry
- iv. Computer Applications / Computer Science
- v. Engineering (Agriculture / Chemical / Civil / Computer / Electrical / Electronics /
- Mechanical)
- vi. Environmental Sciences
- vii. Forestry
- viii. Geology
- ix. Horticulture.
- x. Mathematics
- xi. Physics
- xii. Statistics
- xiii. Veterinary Science
- xiv. Zoology.
- (The standard of these subjects shall be that of Bachelor's degree).
- Interview: The Commission shall conduct an interview of the candidate who qualifies in the written examination. The maximum marks for interview shall be 75.
