Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore has invited applications for admission to the Research Program at the Institute, to fill the shortfall in the August Admissions commencing in 2014.
The Ph.D programmes are offered in: 
  1. Astronomy and Astrophysics,
  2. Aerospace Engineering
  3. Atmospheric & Oceanic Sciences
  4. Computer Science & Automation
  5. Earth Sciences
  6. Electrical Communication Engineering
  7. Electrical Engineering
  8. Electronics Design & Technology
  9. Inorganic & Physical Chemistry
  10. Nanoscience and Engineering
  11. Neuroscience, Organic Chemistry
  12. Physics
  13. Product Design & Manufacturing
  14. Supercomputer Education & Research.

Eligibility:
Candidates should have minimum second-class or equivalent grade in the qualifying examination (which is relaxed to a "pass class" for SC/ST candidates) as indicated below:

(a)     Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field of Engineering/Technology; or Master's degree in Science in an appropriate field; or Bachelor's degree in Science (with Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry as subjects of study) followed by AMIE, AMIIChE, Grad.IETE etc.
(b)     Master's degree in Engineering/Technology in an appropriate field.

Candidates should have qualified one of the following National Entrance Tests and must have attained marks within the cut-off marks announced :
CSIR-UGC NET for JRF; or UGC-NET for JRF; or DBT JRF or ICMR- JRF; or INSPIRE Fellow; or  GATE; or JEST or NBHM.
