The Indian Navy has invited applications from unmarried male candidates for recruitment at the post of Sailors for MR (Musician)-2/2014 batch. Interested and eligible candidates can apply latest by May 10.

Eligibility criteria:
Educational qualification:
  • The candidates are required to have passed Class X from a recognised board. Also, the candidates are required to be proficient in western notation, aural aptitude and basic knowledge in theory of Music. The candidates should have acquired practical skills on any western classical or wind/percussion instrument.

Pay Scale:
The candidates will be provided with a stipend of Rs 5,700 per month initially during the training period. After the completion of training period, the candidates will be placed in the Pay Band Rs 5,200-20200. In addition, they will be paid grade pay @Rs2, 000 plus MSP @Rs2000 plus DA. 

Age limit:
  • The candidates applying should at least be 20-23 years of age.

Selection process:
  • The candidates will be selected on the basis of their performances in the musical screening test, physical fitness test and fitness in the medical examination.

How to apply:
  • Candidates are required to log in to the official website of the Indian navy. On filling the application form as per the format, the candidates should send it to the Commanding Officer, (for Director of Music), INS Kunjali, Colaba, Mumbai-400005. The candidates are required to attach one additional recent coloured passport size photograph, attested copy of matriculation certificate (for verification of date of birth), 10th mark sheet, NCC/sports certificate, domicile certificate and two self-addressed envelops of size 22 x 10 cms with Rs10 stamp affixed on one envelope along with it. The applications are to be sent by ordinary post.
