The Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) has invited applications for the KAS (Preliminary) Exam (J&K Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination) 2014. Interested and eligible candidates are required to apply for the examination before June 12, 2014.
Vacancy details:
  • Junior Scale of J&K Administrative Service: 33 posts
  • J&K Police (G) Service: 16 posts
  • J&K Accounts (G) Service: Two posts

Total Number of Post: 51 posts
Eligibility criteria:
  • The applicant should be a permanent resident of the state. He or she should possess a bachelor's degree from a recognised university in India or of a foreign university declared by government in consultation with the commission to be equivalent to the degree of a recognised Indian University.
  • The age of the candidate should be between 21 to 35 years (in case of OM candidates) as on January 1, 2014. That is, the candidate must have been born not earlier than January 1, 1979 and not later than January 1, 1993.

How to apply:
  • The application forms for Preliminary Examination along-with copy of SRO 387 dated 01.12.2008 as amended from time to time containing the syllabus for the examination, instructions for filling up of the Application Form, Acknowledgement Card and an Envelope for submitting the Application Forms will be available from May 12, 2014.
  • The application forms will be available at designated branches of J&K bank against the prescribed cash payment:
  • Open Merit/General Category Candidates: Rs. 800/-
  • SC, ST, RBA, LAC, Social Caste (SLC) and Physically Challenged (PHC) category candidates: Rs. 550/- 
  • Female candidates belonging to BPL (Below Poverty Line) category: No fee
  • The candidates are requited to submit the duly filled application at any of the designated branches of the J&K Bank before the last date.
  • For any query the candidates are advised to visit www.jkpsc.nic.in or the Commission's facilitation centers at Srinagar/Jammu.

  • Opening date for registration: May 12, 2014
  • Closing date for registration: June 12, 2014
  • Date of preliminary examination (In two Sessions): October 12, 2014
  • Date of main examination: March 1, 2015
