  1. The Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (JNTUH) has rescheduled its faculty recruitment examination for the post of assistant professor in Mathematics on April 26 from 10 am to 11 am, a daily has said.
  2. The examinations, earlier scheduled for April 23, had to be cancelled after discrepancies were detected in the question paper.
  3. In a media release later, JNTU authorities admitted that the question paper had print ink marks indicating the correct answer to some multiple-choice questions. They, however, refused allegations by some of the examinees that it was a deliberate plan to leak the answers.
  4. The candidates brought the anomalies to the notice of the authorities in the course of the examination.  Disgruntled with the administration's alleged negligence, candidates even staged protests, accusing the varsity of foul play.
  5. The release also explained that the question paper which had anomalies was selected from a set of four-five papers just two hours prior to the examination, as per the procedure followed by JNTU in order to maintain transparency in the process so much that no one, including the question paper setters, gets to predict which paper the university will use to test candidates. The question paper for each examination is selected randomly by the vice chancellor and the procedure is video recorded the release further said to refute charges of foul play.
  6. JNTUH's faculty recruitment tests started on April 9 and were supposed to conclude on April 25.
  7. The university has already conducted the interview for recruitment to the post of assistant professor in Computer Science Engineering (CSE) and information technology (IT) Discipline on April 16, 2014. The written examinations for were held on April 15, 2014.
