State Bank of India (SBI), one of the largest banks of the nation, is conducting a competitive examination to recruit 2,986 Probationary Officers. Candidates belonging to Jammu and Kashmir area who wish to register for the same should not wait any longer as only one day remain for the process to conclude. The last date to fill in the applications online is October 4. Though, the last date to send the fee through offline mode is October 9.The registrations for the candidates belonging to the rest of the nation had ended on September 16.
  • According to a notification on the official website, the extended period of registration is available only to candidates opting for a centre falling in Jammu and Kashmir for the written examination. There are six centres where written examination will be conducted in J&K i.e. Ananatnag, Srinagar, Udhampur, Jammu, Kathua and Samba and candidates will get option to select only one of these six centres for written examination during the extended period. 
  • In order to register, the candidates are required to log in to the official website, the links for which is provided here:  www.statebankofindia.com or www.sbi.co.in. Thereafter, candidates are required to pay the requisite application fee through one of the following modes:
  • Offline mode: The system will generate a cash voucher/challan form pre-printed with the candidates' details, which will be required to be presented at any State Bank of India branch counter with the requisite fee. On payment of the requisite fee through computer generated challan form, registration of the online application will be complete.
  • Online mode: The payment can be made by using debit card/credit card/Internet Banking.
  • The SBI Associate Banks PO examination is scheduled to take place in November. The call letters/hall tickets will be published on October 27.
