National Hydrographic Office, Dehradun has invited applications for recruitment at the post of Compositor Grade II and Assistant Artist- Retoucher. Interested and eligible candidates can apply.

Eligibility criteria:
Educational qualification:
  1. Compositor Grade II: Candidates applying for this post are required to have qualified Matriculation examination. Candidates should also have an experience as a compositor in English in a letter press and should be capable enough of giving the prescribed outturn.
  2. Assistant Artist (Retoucher): Candidates applying for this post are required to have qualified Matriculation examination. Also, candidates are required to have obtained Diploma/Certificate in Commercial Art, Printing Technology, Lithography, or Litho Art Work that should have been acquired after two years course or training. Or the candidates should have seven years of practical experience as a retoucher in military durvey, survey of India.
Age limit:
  1. Compositor Grade II: Candidates applying for this post are required to age between 18 and 30 years.
  2. Assistant Artist (Retoucher): Candidates applying for this post are required to age between 20 and 35 years.

Pay Scale:
  1. Compositor Grade II: Rs 5, 200-20, 200 with Grade Pay Rs2, 400 per month
  2. Assistant Artist (Retoucher): Rs 9, 300-34, 800 with Grade Pay Rs4, 200 per month
Selection process:
  1. Candidates will be selected on the basis of written test/ interview.

  1. Candidates are required to send the duly filled application forms to the "The Chief Hydrographer, National Hydrographic Office, 107A Rajpur Road, Dehradun- 248001". 
  2. Also, they should attach the photographs (full name written on backside), 2 self addressed stamped (Rs6) envelops of 23X11 cms size and attested copies of age, educational qualifications, caste, proficiency in sports etc along with the applications.
