CSIR notifies recruitment for Scientist posts

The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) invites applications from highly qualified and motivated candidates for taking up R&D activities and also for providing engineering services to solve the problems of the industry and the society besides participating in the development of laboratory facilities at its Structural Engineering Research Centre unit.

CSIR-Structural Engineering Research Centre (CSIR-SERC), Chennai, is a premier National Laboratory under the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research. The major areas of R&D thrust of the Centre include Structural Concrete Engineering & Technology, Sustainable Materials and Composites, Retrofitting/rehabilitation of Structures, Computational Structural Mechanics for Analysis and Design & Software Development, Transmission Line Towers, Metal Structure Behaviour & Fatigue and Fracture, Structural Health Monitoring and Evaluation & Forensic Analysis and Wind Engineering and Earthquake Engineering.

Eligibility:

• Scientist - Candidates should have M.Tech./M.E. or equivalent recognised Post-graduate degree in required discipline with specialisation and relevant work experience. Upper age limit for the candidates should be 35 years as on May 26, 2014.
• Sr.Scientist - Candidates should have completed Ph.D (Engineering) in the Discipline of Structural Engineering/Chemistry/Material Science/Biology or allied disciple

Pay Scale:

• Scientist - Rs 18750 + G P of Rs 6600 in the Pay Band PB-3 Rs 15600-39100 = Rs 64,705/- 
• Sr. Scientist. - Rs 21900 + G P of Rs 7600 in the Pay Band PB-3 Rs 15600-39100 = Rs 74,250/-  

Selection Criteria:

• Candidates will be shortlisted in the basis of their qualifications and experiences in the relevant area apart from minimum qualification required and then called for an interview.

• Crossed Demand Draft of Rs 100/ drawn on any nationalised bank and valid for at least three months in favour of "The Director, CSIR-SERC", payable at Chennai.
• SC/ST/PWD/Women/CSIR Employees/Abroad Candidates are exempted from submission of application fee.
