The State Level Eligibility Test (SLET) Commission, Assam has invited applications for SET (State Eligibility Test) 2014. The test is conducted to screen candidates who wish to work as a Lecturer in a college or university. Interested and eligible candidates are required to apply for the same on or before August 30, 2014.
Eligibility criteria:
- Candidates should possess a Masters degree or should be appearing for their Master's final semester examination.
Application fee:
- The applicants have to pay an application fee of Rs 400 in cash while depositing the application form.
Paper pattern:
- The test comprises of three papers made of objective type questions. The test will be conducted in two sessions.
- During Session I, candidates will appear for two papers, Paper I and Paper II. The papers will be for 100 marks each. The candidates will be given 180 minutes to complete each paper. In Paper I the candidates have to attempt 50 questions out of 60 and in Paper II they have to attempt all 50 questions.
- During Session II, candidates will have to appear for only one paper which is Paper III. The paper will be for 150 marks and held for a duration of 180 minutes. The candidates must attempt all the 75 questions.
How to apply:
- Interested and eligible candidates can obtain the application forms from the designated centres/ universities. The duly filled application form has to be submitted at the centre where the applicant wishes to appear.
- Candidates can also get the application form along with syllabus for the test and an Information Brochure from the SLET website: www.sletne.org.

- Application form available till: August 23, 2014
- Last date for receipt of duly-filled in forms with fees at designated centers: August 30, 2014
