Indian Navy Sailor AA recruitment 2014

Indian Navy has invited applications for recruitment as sailors for Artificer Apprentice (AA) 137 Batch commencing in February 2015. Selected candidates will undergo a nine-week training at INS Chilka followed by professional training at Naval training establishments.
Candidates recruited through the sailor entry handle propulsion machinery, weapons, sensors and equipment on board. The weapon platforms are also operated and maintained by sailors, who receive requisite training at various intervals during their service. Last date for application is June 20, 2014.

• Vacancies :Artificer Apprentices (AA)
• Salary: AA basic Pay Band is Rs 5,200 - 20,200 plus Grade Pay Rs 2,000 plus MSP of Rs 2,000 plus Group Pay of Rs 1,400 plus DA.
• Eligibility : Age of the candidate should be above 17 years and below 20. The candidate should have completed Class 12 or equivalent with science stream and minimum 60 per cent aggregate marks including Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry/Biology/Computer Science. Only unmarried male candidates are eligible for the AA course.

Selection Eligible candidates will be selected for training as Artificer Apprentices based on their performance in a written test, qualifying physical fitness test (PFT) and Medical examination.

• Written test: The written test will consist of objective type questions divided into four sections: English, Science, Mathematics and General Knowledge to be completed in 1 hour. Candidates are required to pass each section separately and in aggregate. The syllabus will be of 10+2 level.
• Physical Fitness Test (PFT): Clearing the PFT is mandatory to be selected for the post of AA. The PFT will require the aspirant to complete a 1.6-km run in seven minutes, 20 squat ups (uthak baithak) and 10 push-ups.
  
• Medical examination: The candidates will receive a medical examination conducted by authorised military doctors to ensure they are in good physical and mental health and they meet the minimum height/weight/vision requirements.

Send a signed print out of the completed online application form with attested copies of matriculation and 10+2 certificates and one self addressed envelop of size 22x10 cms with Rs 10 stamp affixed on envelope to: Post Box No. Gol Dakkhana GPO,New Delhi -110001. The physical application form should reach the office by June 27, 2014.
